Coffee and Tea Fundraiser Whether you like a cup of Joe or a flavored Tea we can help.  CCHS students are selling gourmet coffee and flavored teas.  Parents - please encourage your child to pick up the phone and make some sales.  Sales are running through March 12 with pre-paid order forms due March 15.  Thanks for all your hard work!

 

Spring Pork Chop Dinner Fundraiser. The Belstra Milling Gang will be grilling up pork chops for you. Come out for a grilled chop, broasted potatoes, coleslaw, and the delicious Fair Oaks Dairy milk and ice cream on Tuesday, March 9 from 5:00 to 7:00.

 

College Visits:

Ø      A representative from Indiana Wesleyan will be visiting Covenant during lunch period on Wednesday, March 10.

Ø      A representative from Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis will be visiting Covenant from 11:00 a.m. through lunch on Thursday, March 11. Lincoln Tech might be a good fit for students pursuing careers in the following areas: Automotive, Business & IT, Health Sciences, Skilled Trades, Spa & Cosmetology or Culinary Arts. Check out their website at www.lincolntech.edu.

Ø      Jane from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia will be visiting during activity period and lunch on Thursday, March 11.

Society Meeting

Covenant Christian High School’s Annual Society Meeting is scheduled for Thursday,

March 11 at 7:00 p.m.  Society members will vote on a proposed advisory budget and new Board members.  The bylaws require that a member “be 18 years of age or older and have individually contributed a minimum of $50 to Covenant in the 13 months prior to the publication of the agenda.”

If submitting an absentee ballot, a member must complete the election ballot and the member affirmation statement, place in a sealed envelope and turn in to the office.

Society booklets were e-mailed to parents on February 24 and hard copies were made available in the school office on February 24 and in the churches on February 28.

 

 

For our spring production of Oklahoma!, we need the following items:

Butter churn, stiff cowboy rope, and an old fashioned corset.  If you can help, please contact the office.

 

 

SCRIP Announcement

SCRIP Dates: 

March  8, 15, and 29.

April 12 and 27.

New!  Meijer now offers SCRIP in $25 and $100 at 3%!

 

Matching Gift Challenge

  1. What are the specific matching gifts?
    1. The donor has now committed to a matching gift of up to $25,000 towards the $50,000 10th Anniversary Gift budget line item.
    2. The donor has now committed to a matching of up to $15,000 towards the goal of raising $30,000 of individual gifts for Tuition Assistance.
  2. What is the up-to-date status of gifts received?
    1. $50,000 goal – received $19,435
    2. $30,000 goal – received $ 5,960

We look forward to the participation of many individuals in our communities as we meet and surpass these two fundraising goals.  Give this your prayerful consideration.  Ask yourself, “What am I to do? What can I give to help meet these financial needs at Covenant Christian High School?”

 

PIA is planning on having a booth at DeMotte's Town & Country Days on August 14.  Mary Van Proyen and Pam Thorn are on this committee.  We need one more member to make this function fabulous. 

 

Hot lunch

March 9 – Hot ham and cheese buns, salad, and cookies

March 16 – Nachos and ice cream

March 30 – chicken patties on buns, salad, brownies


 

Can you help?  Hot lunch committee needs volunteers to help finish out the last few weeks of school. If you can help, please contact the office at 987-7651.  Hot lunch days are greatly appreciated by staff and students.

Community News

 

Calvin College Capella Choir Coming to Community CRC in Roselawn!

Be sure to set aside the afternoon of Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. to hear Calvin College’s top concert choir.  The 40+ voice Capella Choir will be ending their spring tour with a concert at Community Christian Reformed Church in Roselawn, Indiana.  For more information, call the church office at 219-345-3388.
